2024 begins with the cleaning of local Herbal Note's "Ringo no Ki"

At the end of the year, I received a message from the lovely lady at Herbal Note,

who had also been very helpful to me.

I had the opportunity to clean a painting at a request.

A printmaker named Ichiro Otani

Apparently He gave her the painting  as a thank you for letting him sketch the mountain scenery

from the roof of her house.
This beautiful painting, capturing the clear winter air, reminded me of my hometown in the winter.

 

The stains on the painting were a deterioration symptom called foxing,

and were difficult to remove completely.

This time, we focused on lightening the stain so that the picture would be easier to see.
