Taichung Expo

Event period: July 4-6, 2025

Exhibiting Gallery: Qing Shan Art Center

From the Scroll of Five Horses by Li Gonglin, a literati painter from the Northern Song Dynasty (11th century) in China.

I attempted to create the second and third horses from drawings into three-dimensional figures.

The Scroll of Five Horses depicts five magnificent horses that were presented to the emperor of the Northern Song Dynasty from the Western Regions.

I drew the best features of each horse, and while some parts are deformed by hand, others are faithfully drawn.

All the horses are very attractive.

The first horse, created in 2024 , was concerned about the difference between the painting and the actual horse it was modeled after.

I created an experimental piece comparing a painted horse with a real horse.
This time, we were unable to compare it with a real horse,

The techniques used in the making of this piece are marquetry and warihagi construction, both of which are used in the making of Buddhist statues.

There are now just two left until there are five.

One day, Li Gonglin saw a horse so magnificent that it was to be presented to the emperor.

I'd like to see the model .
