Gegyo
Gegyo(or Kegyo)
(A decorative woodenornament hanging from the gable of traditional japanese buildings.)
The Yoshimitsusan Yanodo in Kobuchizawa-cho, Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture is a cultural property designated by Hokuto City.
It is believed to have been rebuilt at its current location in 1781.
The building has a thatched hipped roof and a magnificent wooden hanging pole hanging from the gable.
The Yoshimitsusan yanodo is carefully preserved by the local people.
The thatched roof is due for repair starting in 2020, and it has been decided to create a new Gegyo,
which has deteriorated over time.
This Gegyo was likely from when the hall was rebuilt,
We stayed true to the original design and dimensions and used Himekomatsu lumber.
In places where the fine carvings had become unrecognizable due to deterioration over time, we attempted to restore them based on the flow of the waveforms and the documents.
