Ceiling painting (coffered ceiling)

The painting on the ceiling inside the Yoshimitsusan yanodo is also a cultural property designated by Hokuto City.

When it was rebuilt in 1781 (An'ei 10), it is said to have been painted by artists named Unkei, Touko, and Undai, who were active in Hokuto City.

It is extremely rare to have such a large number of their paintings remaining in such great numbers and with such coloring.

From June to July 2023, we cleaned this ceiling painting and prevented it from peeling.
